Obituary for Donnie Murphy Donnie Murphy, age 71, of Elizabethton, passed away with her family members by her side on Wednesday, December 18, 2018 at Holston Valley Medical Center. Donnie was born in Carter County to the late Arnold and Goldie Hyder Wallace. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by one brother, Eddie Wallace.

Donnie was a loving wife and mother and was a member of Redeemer Lutheran Church. She retired as an administrative assistant and loved antiques, collectables, traveling and working in her yard tending her flowers. Those left to cherish her memory include her loving husband of 35 years, Robert J. Murphy, Sr., of the home; three sons, David A. “Thumper” Murphy, Robert J. “Robby” Murphy, Jr. and Kenneth P. “Butch” Murphy and wife Jennifer, all of Elizabethton; two daughters, Judy Ann Britton, of Granite City, IL and Sandra H. Hoffman, also of Granite City, IL; a special granddaughter, Halea Marie Murphy, along with several addition grandchildren, great grandchildren and several nieces and nephews; two brothers, Alton Weaver Wallace, of Elizabethton, TN and Orlando, FL and Romley Boris Wallace and wife Lena, of Jonesborough, TN and Columbia, SC.

At Donnie’s request, the family will hold a private entombment. The family prefers donations be made to the Carter County Humane Society, P.O. Box 134, Elizabethton, TN 37644. Online condolences may be shared with the family on our website,www.
