Doris Louise Salisbury (Blevins) entered this life on February 4, 1921 and got her wings on February 5, 2019 at the age of 98 years and one day. Doris was the fifth of six children born to Arthur and Mable Salisbury of Boise, Idaho and was raised in Idaho and Washington state. She married Elvin Blevins in February 1945 and left the area for New Mexico with her husband and young son in 1946; a daughter was added to the family before they relocated to Oklahoma in 1952 to start the Beau Cheval Ranch.

In addition to her work on the ranch, Doris was also retired school teacher and began a second career as social worker, retiring from the State of Oklahoma. She was an active and long-time member of the Church of the Nazarene of Pauls Valley. Doris is preceded in death by her parents, Arthur and Mable Salisbury, brothers Lyman and Melton Salisbury, Sisters Adele, Lenore, and Wilma Salisbury.

She is survived by her children, one son Lee Blevins and one daughter Jeannie Blevins (Garrett) Smith, five grandchildren Johnny Gibson, Ginger Garrett Davis and husband Brian, Becky Blevins Garner and husband John, Scott Garrett, and Donny Blevins and wife Candice, honorary granddaughter, Debie Barnes, and eight great-grandchildren Devin Davis, Sam Hixson and wife Chelsea, Zachary Davis, Aaron Barnes, Angie Barnes, Anderson Blevins, Bailey Davis, and Blaze Blevins. Services for Doris Blevins will be Saturday, February 9th at 2 pm and are being handled by Wooster Funeral Home of Pauls Valley. The celebration of her life will take place at the church of the Nazarene with Claude Ledbetter officiating, uplifting music by Bob Curry, and graveside interment at the Blevins Family Cemetery on the Beau Cheval Ranch near Katie, Oklahoma.
