Doris E. Nelson, 91, of Beloit, WI, died on Wednesday, March 13, 2019 at Fair Oaks Rehabilitation & Health Care Center. She was born on December 14, 1927 in Crawford County, WI, the daughter of Quentin and Mae (Gander) Haines. Doris married Bernard Nelson on October 1, 1947 in Soldiers Grove, WI.

He predeceased her on February 29, 2004. Doris was previously employed by Freeman Shoe and Marcella Ceramics. She was a member of River of Life Methodist Church, United Methodist Women, and the church memorial fund committee.

Doris was also a volunteer at Beloit Memorial Hospital. Survivors include her children, Kathleen (Richard) Fago of South Beloit, IL, Bernard Nelson of Walworth, WI, Todd (Pam Flaherty) Nelson of Beloit, WI; grandchildren, Keith (Marie) Fago of AZ, Kurt (Jill) Fago, Randy Fago both of South Beloit, IL, Heather (Ryan) Griffin of Williams Bay, WI, Andy Nelson of Portland, OR, Josh (Nicole) Nelson, Sarah (Dave) Austin both of Walworth, WI, and Sam and Emma Nelson of Orfordville, WI; great grandchildren, Brandon, Justin, Karissa, and Jasmine Fago, Carter and Masen Griffin, Jack and Sophia Nelson, Finley and Scout Austin; sisters, Lenise Ewing of Readstown, WI and Karen (Frank) Hartman of GA. She was predeceased by her parents and several brothers-in-law.

Funeral services will be at 10:30 a.m. on Tuesday, March 19, 2019 in the Daley Murphy Wisch & Associates Funeral Home and Crematorium, 2355 Cranston Rd. , Beloit, WI, with Pastor David Carlson officiating. Burial will be in Floral Lawn Cemetery.

Visitation of remembrance will be from 9:30 a.m. until the time of service Tuesday in the funeral home. Memorials in her name may be given to River of Life United Methodist Church or Beloit Meals on Wheels.
