Doris (Golden) Gray, 77, of Evansville, IN, passed away Sunday, March 10, 2019 at St. Vincent Hospital. She was born June 1, 1941 to the late Lester and Ethel (Wagner) Golden. Doris was a 1959 graduate of Central High School.

She was an active member of North Park Baptist Church and enjoyed working in their food pantry. She worked in the insurance industry for many years, first as the secretary for the President of Great Fidelity, second for the President of Mutual Security and retired as the office manager for Prudential. She and her husband Norris are car enthusiast and members of the Evansville Road Nights.

Her hobbies included dancing, going to car shows, traveling, cruises and playing games with her family. Doris was active in the community and was a long time season ticket holder for the Evansville Aces. She and her husband also enjoyed working with youth sports throughout their lives.

Doris was a beautiful woman and loved by all, but most importantly loved spending time with her family. Doris is survived by her husband of 60 years, Norris Gray; daughters Paula (Willie, III) Capo and Patricia (Dewayne) Overton, grandchildren, Tara ( Tony) Reynolds, Stoney ( Amy) Hayhurst, Colton (Tanya) Overton, Douglas Gray, Ashley Short, Amber and Willie Capo; great grandchildren, Kegan Hayhurst, Ashton Hayhurst, Malory Mills-Lynch, Kendall Hayhurst, Caroline Lynch, Hayley Hayhurst, Charley Lynch, Kristina Reynolds, Trinity Reynolds, Alexander Reynolds, Katelynn Reynolds, Kaison Cleek, Zoey Gray, and Ashlynn Overton; brother, David (Joyce) Golden. She was looking forward to her first great great grandchild, Jace Prow, in June.

She was preceded in death by her parents; and daughter, Pamala Ann Englebright. Visitation will be 3:00 pm to 8:00 pm Thursday, March 14, 2019 at Ziemer Central Funeral Home, 626 N. First Avenue, Evansville, Indiana 47710. Visitation will continue 9:00 am -10:00 am Friday, March 15, 2019 where a funeral service will begin at 10:00 am at the funeral home with Rev.

Dan Sigler officiating. Burial will be at Sunset Memorial Park. Memorial contributions may be made to Lucas Place Transitional Housing, 414 Baker Avenue, Evansville, IN 47710.
