Obituary for Doris W. Martensen Doris W. Martensen November 7, 1925-June 30, 2018 Doris W. Martensen, 92, of Cassopolis, Michigan, passed away Saturday, June 30, 2018 with her family by her side in Three Rivers, Michigan. She was born November 7, 1925 in La Porte, Indiana, the daughter of Wilbur Huge and Dora (Felton) Huge. Doris was a homemaker, helping her husband raise their children and tending to their farm.
She enjoyed gardening, cooking for her family, but most of all spending time with her grandchildren. On October 21, 1944, in La Porte, Indiana, she married Carl F. Martensen who preceded in death September 1, 2007. She is survived by her three sons, Larry (Mary) Martensen of Bossier City, LA, James Martensen of Cassopolis, MI, Charles (Cindy) Martensen of Dowagiac, MI; four daughters, Sharon (Ray) Welburn of Jones, MI, Karen (Scott) Harris of Edwardsburg, MI, Sherri (John) Jessup of Marcellus, MI, Cheryl (Mark) Roberts of Three Rivers, MI; four sisters, Lydia Livinghouse of La Porte, IN, Carol Jesswine of New Carlisle, IN, Carolyn Snyder of Attica, IN, Wilma Chandler of Ohio; nineteen grandchildren; thirty-seven great-grandchildren; twelve great-great-grandchildren.
Doris was preceded in death by both her parents; son, Wesley Martensen; four sisters, Alberta Schoof, Elizabeth Bracken, Erma Dial, Frances Grisamor, great-grandson, Tucker Joe Leduc. Arrangements are being entrusted to Haverstock Funeral Home and Cremation Services, 602 Maple Ave. , La Porte, Indiana where the family will receive friends Thursday, July 5, 2018, 10:00 a.m. – 12:00 p.m. A life celebration will be held at Haverstock Funeral Home, Inc., Thursday, July 5, 2018 at 12:00 p.m. with Scott Northrop officiating.
