Obituary for Doris Bartlett (Collins) Doris C. (Collins) Bartlett, 99, of Bloomfield formerly of Hartford and Lady Lake, FL, loving wife to the late Frederick F. Bartlett, peacefully passed away Tuesday morning, October 16, 2018 in St. Mary Home, West Hartford. Doris was born July 23, 1919 and raised in Watertown, the last of 15 children of the late Camille and Marie (Bellrieu) Collins. She attended Watertown schools and was a graduate of Watertown High School.

She and Fredrick married in 1942, spending 67 wonderful years together along with raising their three children in Hartford and Bloomfield, prior to moving to Lady Lake, FL in 1982. Prior to her retirement Doris was employed in the Banking industry for many years. Religion was very important part of Doris’s life, she was a devout Catholic and past communicant of St. Luke Church, Hartford and St. Timothy Catholic Community in the Villages, FL.

She travelled extensively, volunteered her time at South Catholic High School Bingo and as a member of the Orange Blossom Gardens Lions Club in Lady, Lake, FL. Her greatest joy was spending time with her family and taking care of her home and Doris will be deeply missed and fondly remembered by her loving family, her three children, William E. Bartlett and his wife Debra, of Bloomfield, Frederick J. Bartlett and Mary L. Bartlett, both of FL; four adored grandchildren, William E. Bartlett Jr., Katherine Williams and her husband Jason, Bryan Bartlett and Kevan Bartlett; as well as three cherished great grandchildren, Colleen Williams, Cara Williams and Giuliana Bartlett. The Bartlett family would like to extend their most heartfelt thanks to the Staff of St. Mary – West 1 for all their wonderful care and compassion they extended to Doris.

Friends and relatives may pay their respects to the family, Monday morning, October 29, 2018 from 9-10am at the Farley-Sullivan Funeral Home, 34 Beaver Rd. , Wethersfield, followed by a Mass of Christian Burial celebrating Doris’ life at 10:30am in St. Luke Church, 66 Bolton St., Hartford. Interment will follow the Mass in the CT State Veteran’s Cemetery, Bow Lane, Middletown.
