OBITUARY Harold Joseph Erlandson September 18, 1940 – October 5, 2018 Harold Joseph Erlandson, 78, of Gray Fox Lane, Rocky Hill passed away peacefully on October 5, 2018. Harold (Hal, Joe, or Mr. E) was born in Hartford, on September 18, 1940 to Carl & Ellen Erlandson. He is survived by his daughter Erica, grandchildren Addison and Brayden, and many family members and friends who will miss him dearly.

He was predeceased by his beloved wife Patricia (Paternostro) Erlandson, son Mark, his parents, two brothers Carl Jr. and John, a sister Mary, other beloved family members, and many dear and special friends including John and Kay Zakarian, James Rossini, and Bill Neznayko. Harold attended Windham High School in Willimantic, CT and graduated from the University of Hartford. He served in the Air Force for two years and then in the Air Force reserves.

Harold was a consulting electrical engineer by profession, eventually becoming a partner in Donovan, Hammick & Erlandson. He enjoyed working, travelling with his wife and daughter, visiting Foxwoods Casino, and “procrastinating”. Once he retired, his favorite pastimes included spending time with his grandchildren, Addison and Brayden, and walking his dogs, Iggy and Mac.

In addition, he served on the Board of his condominium association for many years. Harold was known as a man of few words (unless the topic was his grandchildren, UCONN basketball, golf, cars, his dogs, or something that piqued his interest). Like his father, he enjoyed fishing, especially fly fishing.

For a time, he even made his own lures. His grandchildren will miss the “yes” they received any time they asked him for something. His daughter Erica will miss his calming presence, gourmet dinners, and entertaining texts.

Relatives and friends are kindly invited to attend calling hours on Saturday, November 3 from 10 – 11 a.m. followed by a memorial service at D’Esopo Funeral Chapel, 277 Folly Brook Blvd, Wethersfield.
