Dorotha “Shorty” Williams May 09, 1925 – February 14, 2019 Share this obituary Sign Guestbook| Send Sympathy Card Graveside services for Ms. Doretha Mae “Shorty” Lyon Williams will be held at 2:00 p.m. Sunday, February 17, 2019 at Laton Hill Cemetery in Laton Hill, AL with Reverend Leland James and Reverend Chip Phillips officiating. An informal celebration of her life will follow the graveside service at Laton Hill Baptist Church. Ms. Williams, age 93, passed away Thursday, February 14, 2019, at her residence in Laton Hill, AL.

She was born May 9, 1925 in Muldro, OK to Merle Hugh Lyon and Ella Mae James Lyon. She was a member of Denham Baptist Church. She is survived by her sons, Jerry Williams (Janet) of Laton Hill, AL, Col.

T.J. Williams (Cmdr. Eileen J.) of Cedar Point, NC, and Carl D. Williams (Donna) of Fairhope, AL; brothers, Buddy Lyon of Brawley, CA and Charlie Lyon of Boise, ID; sister, Margaret Beech of Chatom, AL; fourteen grandchildren; fourteen great grandchildren; and six great great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents, Merle and Ella Lyon; husband, W.R. “Bill” Williams; son, Merle Lee “Peewee” Williams; daughter, Mary Catherine “Cathy” Williams and grandchild, Brandi Leigh Waite.

Serving as pallbearers will be grandsons and nephews. SERVICES Graveside Service Sunday, February 17, 2019 2:00 PM Laton Hill Cemetery 44 Nathan Jordan Rd.
