Dorothy Jane Bennett, 85, of Hillsboro, IL, passed away on Sunday, November 18, 2018 at 10:42 a.m. at Hillsboro Rehab and Health Care Center, Hillsboro, IL. Cremation rites were accorded and no funeral services will be held. Burial will take place at Lebanon Cemetery, Lebanon, IL.

Mrs. Bennett was born on November 15, 1933 in Hillsboro, IL to the late John and Beatrice (Hill) Homa. She was a 1950 Graduate of Hillsboro High School, Hillsboro, IL, where she was a cheerleader for four years. She worked as a life guard at Central Park Pool, and later as a library secretary.

Mrs. Bennett lived in Lebanon, IL for most of her adult life. She married Donald Bennett on June 1, 1950 at St. Agnes Catholic Church, Hillsboro, IL. He preceded in December 1990.

Mrs. Bennett is survived by four children, Donald Bennett, Stephen Bennett, and Michael Bennett, and daughter-in-law Kate Bennett; four grandchildren; four great grandchildren; and two brothers, John Homa, Sandy Creek, WI, and Jim (Wife Emma) Homa, Braceville, IL. Mrs. Bennett was also preceded in death by one sister, Joan Robinson.
