Dorothy Jeanne Doan April 04, 1941 – May 11, 2019 Share this obituary Send Flowers Sign Guestbook| Send Sympathy Card Dorothy Jeanne (Hosmer) Doan was born April 4, 1941, in Delaware, Indiana on the family farm called Hosmer Hill to Theodore Roosevelt Hosmer and Dorothy Rosetta (Gilland) Hosmer. She was one of 10 children. Jeanne passed from this life on May 11, 2019, at the age of 78.
Jeanne married Bob Doan on May 21, 1960, and they were married until his passing in 2003. Jeanne and Bob were always together raising kids, attending sporting events, working on the farm, raising cattle, growing a garden, working in the yard, and planting flowers. Jeanne and Bob were always helping their kids on different jobs at their homes, which included building houses, replacing roofs, and building fences.
Whatever their boys were doing, they were there helping. Jeanne was a homemaker, and tackled the huge task of raising six boys. She also was a caretaker of many elderly neighbors, helping four different families through the years.
But, Jeanne’s most rewarding job was helping raise the grandkids. Jeanne is survived by her six sons, Robert JR and wife Sandra Doan of Dibble, OK, Steve and wife Lisa Doan of Amber, OK, Tim and wife Clara Doan of Lindsay, OK, Mike and wife Stephanie Doan of Blanchard, OK, Doug and wife Amy Doan of Chickasha, OK. Eddie and wife Amy Doan of Anadarko, OK; twelve grandchildren, Kerry and wife Destini Doan of Lindsay, OK, TJ and wife Ashley Doan of Lindsay, OK, Cassie and husband Jack Gipson of Dibble, OK, Chelsea and husband Robbie Robinson of Lebanon, TN, Joel and wife Kandice Doan of Amber, OK, Ethan and wife Erica Doan of Weatherford, OK, Taylor Doan, Jessica Doan, Derek Doan, Ashley Doan, Cache Clift and fiancé Bailey Crabtree, McKenna and husband Seth Opitz of Binger, OK; five brothers, Bill and wife Lucille Hosmer of Delaware, IN, Don Hosmer of Falmouth, KY, Harley and wife Sue Hosmer of Owensboro, KY, James and wife Brenda Hosmer of Osgood, IN, and Kenny and wife Julie Ann Hosmer of Milan, IN; two sisters, Mary Thompson and Barbara Sue Peck both of Osgood, IN; two sisters in law, Pauline Doan of Milan, IN, and Pat Perry of Chandler, OK; fifteen great grandkids, Jensen, Baylor, Hunter, Taylor, Aiden, Riley, Abigale, Phillip, Marianna, Jude, Walt, Rozalyn, Izabelle, Ainzley, Styker; and tons of family back in Indiana as well as numerous nieces, nephews, family, and friends.
Jeanneis proceeded in death by her parents, Theodore and Dorothy Hosmer; husband, Bob Doan; twin granddaughters, Tiffany Jean and Jennifer LeeAnn Doan; and two sisters, Shirley Ann Jones and Betty Lou May. A Funeral Service to honor the life of Jeanne is set to begin at 1:00 P.M. on Friday, May 17, 2019, at the Free Will Baptist Church in Dibble, Oklahoma. She will be laid to rest following the service at Hale Cemetery in Alex, Oklahoma.
