Dorothy Mae Holtkamp Tiemann June 30, 1928 – December 15, 2018 Send Flowers Sign Guestbook| View Guest Book Entries| Send Private Condolences| Send Sympathy Card Dorothy Mae Tiemann, age 90, of Beasley, Texas went to be with her Lord and Savior on Saturday, December 15, 2018. She was surrounded by her loving family in her final moments at her home. She was born June 30, 1928 in Needville, Texas to Henry and Caroline Holtkamp.

On June 9, 1946, she married Melvin Tiemann. She was preceded in death by her husband of 46 years, Melvin Tiemann; parents Henry and Caroline Holtkamp; brothers Raymond and Erwin Holtkamp; sisters-in-law Darlene and Wanda Holtkamp. She is survived by one brother, Elwood “Buck” Holtkamp of Conroe, and 3 children, Jimmy Tiemann and wife Donna of Beasley, Debra Sue Primrose and husband Ronnie of Weesatche, and Doris Hattermann and husband Erwin of Weimar.

She loved and cherished her grandchildren providing them with many baked goods. They are Jody Primrose and wife Michelle, Justin Primrose and wife Jane, Kirk Hattermann and wife Wendy, Kevin Hattermann, Chris Wright and wife Erica, and Jenny Rodgers and husband Kurt. She also leaves behind 8 great grandchildren and numerous nieces and nephews and friends.

Dorothy was a loving mother and wife of a cotton farmer. In 1964, she fulfilled her lifelong dream of becoming a nurse and worked at Polly Ryon Hospital for 7 years. About that time, the grandchildren started to come along and she decided it was time to become a full time grandmother.

Her yard was evidence of her pastime of gardening, by the beautiful flowers on display. She was a lifelong member of Hope Lutheran Church of Beasley, Texas. She served as a Sunday school teacher and member of the ladies group.

Wherever she was needed, she was there. Funeral services will be held at 2:00 PM Wednesday, December 19, 2018 at Hope Lutheran Church, 7316 Avenue A, Beasley, Texas 77417 with Pastor Karen Wilhelm presiding. Burial will follow in Friedens United Church of Christ Cemetery, Beasley, Texas.

Visitation will be from 5 to 7 PM Tuesday, December 18, 2018 at Garmany & Carden Funeral Directors Chapel, 1201 Fourth Street, Rosenberg, Texas 77471. In Lieu of flowers, remembrance donations can be made to Hope Lutheran Church or to the charity of one’s choice. Condolence messages may be written for the Tiemann family at www.
