Dr. Barry David Ritchie, age 77, of Knoxville, passed away on Wednesday, January 23, 2019. He was a member of Central Baptist Church, Bearden. Barry was a founding member of “Wednesday Happy Hour Group” as well as a member of the Knoxville Ski and Outing Club.

He was a podiatrist for over 30 years, a world traveler, life-long learner, practical joker, and mushroom lover. Barry was a loving husband, father, and “Papa Doc” and will be missed dearly. He was preceded in death by parents, Donald and Ruby Gillespie Ritchie; brother, Daryl Ritchie; father and mother-in-law, Claude and Ruth Cain; and cousin, Steve Moffitt.

Barry is survived by his devoted wife, Claudia Cain Ritchie; daughters and sons-in-law, Regan (Ritchie) and Iain Emmons, Darcey (West) and Charles Morris; son and daughter-in-law, Lance and Hang Du Ritchie; and grandson, Claude “Cade” Morris. He is also survived by cousins, Donna Jean Lewinski and Reggie Gillespie; brother-in-law, Jim Myers; sister-in-law, Terri Myers; nieces, Courtney (Myers) Hilliard and Amy Myers; nephew, Eric Myers; many grandnieces and a grandnephew. There will be visitation from 2:30 pm to 3:30 pm on February 2, 2019 at the Arthur Bobcean Funeral Home, Flat Rock Chapel.
