Obituary for Duane Gibbs Rush Springs: Long time Rush Springs resident Duane Gordon Gibbs died Friday, June 8, 2018 in Duncan after a lengthy illness. He was 78. Funeral services will be held at 2:00 pm Wednesday, June 13, 2018 at the Callaway-Smith-Cobb Chapel in Rush Springs with the Rev.

David Hale officiating. Burial will be in the Rush Springs Cemetery immediately following the services. All arrangements have been entrusted to the Callaway-Smith-Cobb Chapel of Rush Springs.

Duane was born Friday, October 13, 1939 in Oklahoma City to Raymond and Melba (ODonnell) Gibbs. Duane grew up in Rush Springs and graduated from Rush Springs High School with the class of 1957. Following High School, he attended the Oklahoma Military Academy.

In addition to the 40 plus years he lived in Rush Springs, he had also lived in Arizona, Nevada and Indiana working as a salesman for an automotive equipment company. Duane was a proud supporter of the Rush Springs Redskins and could been seen at most all of their activities. In addition to Rush Springs athletics, Duane also loved to follow both professional and college sports.

He enjoyed fishing and was most likely going to beat you while playing poker. He loved having cook outs with family and friends, going bowling, and playing golf and driving fast cars. Duane was member of the Rush Springs Lions Club, the NRA, and the Vimy Ridge Baptist Church.

Survivors include: Son, Michael Gibbs of AZ, Daughter, Ginny Giambrone of Rochester, NY 1 Granddaughter, Jenna Giambrone of Rochester, NY 1 Grandson, Sam Giambrone of Rochester, NY, Brother in law, Leland Boren, of Upland Indiana Niece, Lori Meyers, Marion Indiana 2 Nephews, Landrew Boren of Texas and Lael Boren of Upland Indiana He was preceded in death by parents, 1 brother, Lary Leroy Gibbs, Sister, LaRita Rae (Boren) Gibbs.
