Obituary for Maxine Branam Marlow: Maxine Branam, 88, left this world on Saturday, July 28, 2018 in Marlow. Funeral Services will be held at 10:00 AM, Thursday, August 2, 2018, at the Callaway-Smith-Cobb Chapel in Marlow, with Rev. David Woods officiating.

Burial will follow in the Marlow Cemetery under the direction of Callaway-Smith-Cobb Funeral and Cremation Services in Marlow. Maxine was born Wednesday, June 18, 1930 in Texarkana, AR, to William M. and Florence Elizabeth (Snodgrass) Whaley. She lived in the Marlow and Bray area most of her life and attended Bray School.

She married Billy Ora Burt on July 13, 1950 in Lawton. They were married for 8 years before his passing on September 8, 1958. Maxine went on to marry Billy Gene Branam in Wichita Falls, Texas on July 18, 1962.

They were married for 49 years before his passing on November 6, 2011. She liked to sew, read, and work crossword puzzles. She loved to cook and her family’s favorite was her fried chicken and her chocolate sheet cake.

She was a selfless, caring, and giving woman who enjoyed doing things for others and more than anything else, she loved to take care of her family. Survivors include, a son, Steven Burt and wife Kay of Marlow, 3 daughters, Billie Jean Brown and husband Charles of Marlow, Terri Young of Marlow, Susan Arlene Wilson of Broken Arrow, 5 grandchildren, 13 great-grandchildren, 3 great-great-grandchildren, 2 sisters, Christine Massey of Burns, TN, Mattie Whaley of Duncan. She is also survived by a sister-in-law, Billie June Whaley.

In addition to her husbands, she was preceded in death by a daughter-in-law, Dawn Burt, her parents, 5 brothers, Billy Whaley, Ben Whaley, Jim Whaley, John Whaley, Buddy Whaley, 7 sisters, Minnie Benton, Lela Taylor, Syntha Whaley, Ida Neal, Lois Whaley, Allene Palmer, Effie Palmer.
