Earl A. Baumann, 98, of Sheboygan Falls and longtime dairy farmer in the Town of Lima passed away on Thursday, June 7, 2018 at his home with his loving family beside him. Earl lived a life of transition. He was born on September 13, 1919 in Plymouth a son to the late Alfred and Eva (Lange) Baumann, Sr..

He attended Bonnie View School, a one room school before becoming a dairy farmer. He remembered plowing fields with a team of horses, milking cows by hand, “outdoor plumbing” and a telephone party line system. Farming was done without chemicals or additives and milk was produced with no BGH.

The land was nourished with manure, contour strips and crop rotation. His motto was to work hard and don’t put off to tomorrow what you can do today. On June 7, 1941 he was united in marriage to Marion Back and she preceded him in death on August 16, 2012.

Earl operated a dairy farm in the Town of Lima and was employed with Perronne Industries for 37 years. He volunteered at the Sheboygan County Fair for 12 years and always enjoyed gardening, yard work and playing cards. Earl was a member of Trinity United Methodist Church in Waldo and served with the Town of Lima Farm Bureau.

Earl is survived by two sons, Donald Baumann of Plymouth and George (Rosemary) Baumann of Waupun; three daughters, Alice (Allan) Stader of Plymouth, Janet (Richard) Holler of Sheboygan Falls and Linda (John) Fischer of Plymouth; 16 grandchildren; many great grandchildren and great great grandchildren; many step grandchildren, step great grandchildren and step great great grandchildren; a brother, Robert (Barbara) Baumann of Sheboygan; a sister-in-law, Dorothy Baumann of Plymouth and a brother-in-law, Edmund Schultz of Elkhart Lake. He is further survived by nieces, nephews other relatives and friends. Along with his wife and parents he was preceded in death by two grandchildren; a great granddaughter; his daughter-in-law, Janet Baumann; his brothers and sisters-in-law, Milton and Verona Baumann, Victor and Lauretta Baumann, Alfred and Audrey Baumann, Jr. and Kenneth Baumann; his sisters and brothers-in-law, Ruth and Walter Stroshane, Eleanor and Reinhold Herzog and Marion Schultz; his brother-in-law and sisters-in-law, Roger and Shirley Lubach, and Helen Buckmann.

A funeral service for Earl will be held at 7 PM, Monday, June 11 at Trinity United Methodist Church in Waldo with Rev. Denise Kwiatlowski, Chaplain Jim Mallmann and Grandson Jason Stader officiating. .

Burial will be in the Woodlawn Cemetery in Plymouth. Family and friends may gather at the church, 425 N. Lyndon Street, Waldo on Monday from 4 PM until the time of service at 7 PM. Memorials in Earl’s name may be directed to Campus Life, Sharon S. Richardson Community Hospice and the Trinity United Methodist Church.
