Earnest Webster Lohr August 18, 1927 – May 01, 2019 Share this obituary Sign Guestbook| Memorial Donation Earnest “Sam” Webster Lohr, 91, of Charlottesville, Virginia, passed away on May 1, 2019. He was born August 18, 1927 in Madison County, Va. , and was the youngest son of the late Earnest O. Lohr and Marion Tappy.

Mr. Lohr was preceded in death by his wife, Mary C. Lohr, as well as five sisters and four brothers. Mr. Lohr was employed by Sperry Marine in Charlottesville for over 35 years retiring in 1990. He is survived by two daughters, Donna Lohr Ferneyhough and husband, Jeff, of Charlottesville, and Kimberly Lohr Gibson and husband, Scott, of Palmyra.

He is also survived by grandchildren Edward Allen Ferneyhough and wife, Ruth, of Charlottesville, Brian Thomas Ferneyhough of Cincinnati, Ohio and Sydney Renee Gibson of Palmyra. Mr. Lohr was an active member of Belmont Baptist Church for many years serving as usher, deacon, and choir member. The family would like to thank his very special caretaker, Kierstin Pannell, for her daily devotion and dedication to his care and well-being.

She was always a ray of sunshine for him. The family gratefully acknowledges the assistance of friend and neighbor, Vicki Hall. A visitation will be held at Belmont Baptist Church on Tuesday, May 7, from 1:00 until 2:00 p.m. followed by a funeral service at 2:00 p.m. at the church with Pastor Greg Anderson officiating.

Interment will follow at Holly Memorial Gardens. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Belmont Baptist Church at 830 Monticello Ave Charlottesville, VA 22901, All Blessings Flow at 2335 Seminole Ln Suite 2000, Charlottesville, VA 22901, or to Meals on Wheels at 704 Rose Hill Dr, Charlottesville, VA 22903.
