Howard Edward “Eddie” Harpel III, 53, of Finksburg, died Monday afternoon, April 23, 2018 at his home, surrounded by his loving family. Born July 29, 1964 in Westminster, he was the son of the late Howard E. Harpel, Jr. and the late Anna Czerwinski Walsh. He is survived by his loving wife, Michelle Dykes Harpel.

Eddie was an Engineering Technician for Carroll County Government. He loved gardening, model trains, and had a unique baseball card collection. He was an avid Orioles fan and enjoyed NASCAR racing.

In his younger years he was involved in 4H and FFA. He was a member of Clearfield Bible Church, where he served faithfully for many years. In addition to his wife, Eddie is survived by his sister and brother-in-law, Patricia and Larry Stonesifer of Charlotte Hall; step-brother, Terry Walsh of Westminster loving nephew, Parker Stonesifer; In-laws, Harry and Sharon Dykes of Westminster; brothers-in-law, Joe Dykes and wife, Jackie, of Salisbury and Chris Dykes and wife, Sandra, of Aspen, CO; and a number of cousins.

A Funeral Service will be held at 11:00 AM on Friday, April 27th, at the Clearfield Bible Church, 1303 Old Westminster Pike, Westminster, with Pastor Ray Newman officiating. Burial will follow in Carrollton Church of God Cemetery, Finksburg. The family will receive friends at the MYERS-DURBORAW FUNERAL HOME, 91 Willis Street, Westminster on Thursday from 3:00-5:00 and 7:00-9:00 PM and one hour prior to the service at the church on Friday.
