Obituary for Edith Chadwell Wolfenbarger Edith Chadwell Wolfenbarger, 105, of the Caylor community of Ewing, VA, passed away peacefully on November 26, 2018 at Lee Health and Rehabilitation Center in Pennington Gap, VA. She was born on July 25, 1913 in the Dry Branch area of Ewing to the late Harvey and Martha Frances “Fannie” Ayers Chadwell. Affectionately known as “Cook”, she took over the cooking and household responsibilities upon her mother’s death.

Having accepted Christ on July 25, 1931, she was a lifelong member of Mountain View Baptist Church in Ewing. Edith was married to the late Chester Wolfenbarger for over forty years. They had four children, including a son Danny, who died in infancy.

In addition to her parents, husband and infant son, she was preceded in death by her siblings, Creed Chadwell, Dan Chadwell, Zan Chadwell, Bill Chadwell, Winnie Chadwell, C.F. Chadwell, H.S. Chadwell, Jack Brooks and Warna Lou Harmon. She is survived by her children, Linda Sue “Susie” McCuiston and husband Claude, of Clinton, TN, Billy Wolfenbarger and wife Martha, of Sanford, NC, and Debbie Garrett and husband Steve, of Jonesville, VA; six grandchildren, Susan Saine and husband Heith, of Lafayette, GA, Heather Mahoney and husband Ryan, of Knoxville, TN, Hilary Hall and husband Mark, of Pittsboro, NC, Brandon Wolfenbarger and wife Candace, of Sanford, NC, Stephanie Campbell and husband Kevin, of Siler City, NC, and Jennifer Taylor and husband Brett, of Jonesville; eighteen great-grandchildren, one great-great granddaughter; sister-in-law, Emily Wolfenbarger, of Anderson, IN; special nieces, Judy Hatmaker, of Pennington Gap, VA and Pam White, of Nicholasville, KY; special nephew, Coy Chadwell, of Knoxville, TN; and many other nieces, nephews, cousins and friends. The family will receive friends from 1 until 2:00 p.m. Friday, November 30, at Robinette Funeral Home in Rose Hill, VA.

The funeral service will begin at 2:00 p.m. with Rev. Terry England and Rev. David Bolton officiating.

Graveside services will follow in the Chadwell Cemetery in Ewing, VA. Pallbearers will be Brett Taylor, Brandon Wolfenbarger, Coy Chadwell, David Seals, Tom Davis and A.J. Hatmaker. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be sent to the Resident’s Christmas Fund, C/O Lee Health and Rehabilitation Center, 208 Healthcare Drive, Pennington Gap, VA 24277.
