Obituary for Edith McLaughlin (Carter) Edith McLaughlin, age 90, died on Thursday, November 29, 2018. Edith was born in Center Grove, Texas on October 29, 1928 to John Samuel Carter and Stella Mae (Wheat) Carter. Edith was a lifelong Christian who lived out her love for Jesus through her selfless service to others.

She found fulfillment in serving the elderly as a nurse for many years. Edith attended Faithway Baptist Church, spent many years at Trinity Baptist Church, and then in the last few years of her life she served faithfully at First Baptist Church Irving. Edith enjoyed her Pathfinders Sunday school class and the relationships she kindled there.

Edith joined her husband of 51 years Johnnie Mitchell McLaughlin (2004) in eternity and together they are also in the company of her granddaughter Amy McLaughlin Dorn; sisters Juanita, Faye, Ruby, and Maurine; and at last she has been reunited with her baby brother whom died at birth. Left to cherish her memory are children John White and wife Jonelle, Thomas McLaughlin, Dennis McLaughlin and wife Toni, Debbie Hollaway and husband Tony; grandchildren Sandy and husband Mike, Kari and husband Terry, Adam and wife Kim, Amber and husband Danny, Amanda and husband Jonathan, Austin and wife Brittany, Aaron and wife Stephanie, Ashleigh; great grandchildren Travis, Morgan, Lexi, Riley, Nicole, Kortnie, Laney, Colby, Hailey, Blakely, Sierra; as well as numerous other extended family and loving friends. The family will receive friends from 2:00pm – 4:00pm on Sunday, December 2, 2018 at Brown’s Memorial Funeral Home, 707 North MacArthur Blvd.

, Irving, TX 75061. A funeral service will be held at 10:00am on Monday, December 3, 2018 at First Baptist Church Irving, 403 South Main Street Irving, TX 75060. An interment will immediately follow at Oak Grove Memorial Gardens, 1413 E. Irving Blvd.
