Edward J. “Ed” Hardesty, Jr., age 89, of Evansville, IN, passed away on Friday, December 28, 2018. Ed was born in Owensboro, KY on March 6, 1929 to Edward J. Hardesty, Sr. and Mary Jean (Page) Hardesty. He graduated from Memorial High School in 1948 and received his Masters Degree in Education from Indiana University.

Ed retired from the Evansville Vanderburgh School Corporation, after teaching at North High School for 30 years. He previously taught English for 2 years at Mt. Carmel (IL) High SchoolEd is survived by his daughters, Susan Kasey (Jay) of Columbus, OH, Pamela Mayhan (Steve) of Atlanta, GA, Ellen Hardesty of Evansville, IN; son, Jeff Hardesty (Kathy) of Evansville, IN; and grandchildren, Annie, Daniel, John, Katie, Michael and Sarah.

He is preceded in death by his parents. Services will be private. Boone Funeral Home East Chapel-A Family Tradition Funeral Home, 5330 Washington Avenue, Evansville will be handling arrangements.
