Obituary for M. Edward Hunter Maurice Edward Hunter, age 87, of Delaware died Saturday May 26, 2018 at the Sarah Moore Home. He was born Oct. 25, 1930 in Ft.

Wayne, IN. to the late James B. and Lillian T. (McKeeman) Hunter. Ed attended high school in Ft.

Wayne and then earned his bachelor’s degree from Indiana University. He went on to receive two Master’s degrees from the University of Chicago (one in Theology and one in Divinity) and a Master’s in Library Science from Simmons College. Ed served as a librarian and library director at the Methodist Theological School of Ohio.

Ed was an active member of St. Peter’s Episcopal Church for over 50 years. He also participated in a number of community organizations including the League of Women Voters, Horizons Prison Ministry, and a James Joyce study group. Ed is survived by his children, James M. (Julia Lanier) Hunter of Delaware, Emily (Rick) Savors of Worthington, Sarah (Joseph) Giffen-Hunter of Minneapolis, and Andrew (Alison) Hunter of Minneapolis; grandchildren, Charsey (Erik) Porse, Rebecca (Zac) Karabatak, Lake Giffen-Hunter, Griffin Hunter, Eleanor Savors, and Wilson Hunter; sister, Jane (Daniel) Hodgson and other family including Alan Zeid.

In addition to his parents, Ed was preceded in death by his first wife Melva (Doxtater) Hunter, second wife, Louella (Binkhorst) Hunter, and brothers, Donald and Dick Hunter. A celebration of Ed’s life will be observed on Saturday June 30, 2018 at 11:00 AM In the St. Peter’s Episcopal Church, 45 W. Winter St. in Delaware. A reception for family and friends will follow the memorial service at St. Peter’s.
