Obituary for Edward Ray Goodwin Sr. Edward Ray Goodwin Sr., Age 70, of North Olmsted passed away June 20, 2018. Beloved husband of Masako (Tsuha); loving father to Edward Ray (Katrina) Goodwin Jr. and Edward Eric Goodwin Sr. (deceased); Dear Grandfather to Edward Eric Goodwin Jr., and Aireonna Alexa Goodwin; cherished siblings Jim Goodwin, Lois McCoy, Tonya Pro, Mark Anthony (Marsha Ann) Pro, Michael Pro, Theodor Matthew Pro. Born to his parents Mallard Eugene Goodwin and Johnnie Mae Abrahms.

Loving husband, father, and grandfather. A high school drop-out that joined the Army at 18. The roles and duties he performed were Combat Engineer, Airborne, Green Beret, and Helicopter Pilot in the 101st Air Cavalry.

During his time in the Army he earned his GED, Bachelor’s Degree, and achieved the rank of Chief Warrant Officer. In the Army he served 3 tours in Vietnam and during his time in the National Guard he flew humanitarian mission in Central America and medical evacuation missions in Iraq during Desert Storm. Edward prided himself on being a pilot and was passionate about flying.

He had an adventurous spirit and a sharp mind. Edward was qualified to fly a multitude of aircraft ranging from helicopters to 747’s. He has broken the sound barrier and been scuba diving around the world – including the Red Sea.

Two months ago, he and his wife celebrated their 50th wedding anniversary – 50 years of “a life less ordinary”. Edward imbued all the tasks he undertook with both his heart and gut. He provided and supported.

Edward Ray Goodwin Sr. loved deeply and unconditionally and is now reunited with his son Edward Eric Goodwin Sr. Cremation has taken place. An informal commemoration in his honor will take place on Sunday June 24, 2018. Contact his Son, Edward Ray Goodwin Jr., at 440.
