Obituary for Edward William “Bill” Harry Jr. Edward William “Bill” Harry. Jr., 87, of Connellsville passed away peacefully Sun. July 1, 2018 at his home, while surrounded by his loving family.
He was born Aug. 5, 1930 in Connellsville a son of the late Edward William and Bernadette McGrogan Harry, Sr. Bill was a graduate of the former Immaculate Conception Catholic High School. He worked as a meter reader for Columbia Gas and took an early retirement and started his own business, E.W. Harry Construction of Connellsville.
Bill was a Veteran of the U.S. Navy where he served with the Seabees during the Korean War. He was a member of the Connellsville Partner Parish of The Immaculate Conception R.C. Church. Bill was also a former member of the Connellsville Elks #503, where he enjoyed playing cards, and he also enjoyed golfing and traveling around the country in his motor home.
Bill will be sadly missed but fondly remembered by his loving family, his companion of 34 years Gladys LaPorte of Connellsville, his son Edward William Harry, III of Florida, his grandsons Mike Malandro and wife Sonia of Chesterfield, VA. , Ryan E. Harry and fiancee Sheena of Connellsville, and Rev. Robert W. Harry and wife Lauren of Palm Beach, FL.
, his great grandchildren Kyra and Aidan Malandro and Levi and Madi, his daughter-in-law Cherri L. Harry, and his brother Philip Harry and wife Kay of San Diego, CA. In addition to his parents Bill was predeceased by his wife Wilma Auer Harry in 1983, his sisters Eileen Peifer, Bernadette Keslar, and Kathy Moulton, and his brother S.J. Harry. Family and friends will be received Fri.
