Tranter, 82, of Lebanon, passed away Feb. 12, 2019, at Signature Healthcare at Parkwood in Lebanon. Edwin was born March 16, 1936, in Louisville, KY, a son of the late Edwin Henry, Sr. and Edna (McKinley) Tranter.

He married Elizabeth McAfee on May 10, 1969. Edwin served in the United States Army from 1959 until 1961, and was stationed in Germany for 18 months. He worked in the Kroger Bakery in Indianapolis for 42 years.

Edwin was a member of the Lebanon Church of Christ. He enjoyed word search puzzles and bowling. Survivors include his wife, Elizabeth Tranter of Lebanon; son, Jeremy Tranter of Lebanon; sister, Barbara Harrison of Louisville, KY; niece, Linda Bradshaw of Glasgow, KY; and brother-in-law, Dr. James (Jean) McAfee of Lebanon.

Edwin was preceded in death by his sister, Juanita Adams. Family and friends will gather Fri. , Feb.

15, 2019, for visitation from 11 a.m. until the time of the funeral service at 1 p.m. with Steve Jaggers officiating in the Strawmyer & Drury Mortuary, 2400 N. Lebanon Street, Lebanon. Edwin will be laid to rest following Military Rites at Lincoln Memory Gardens in Whitestown. You are invited to visit the website www.
