Mr. John Edwin Ehrie, 63, passed away at Witham Memorial Hospital in Lebanon, Indiana, on Friday, February 8, 2019. He was born March 17, 1955 in Frankfort, Indiana, a son of John R. Ehrie and the late Janice Marie (Catron) Ehrie. John was a longtime resident of Boone County and a 1973 graduate of Lebanon High School.

He honorably served in the United States Army Special Forces Unit from 1974 – 1978. For many years, John had worked as the property manager for Nash Corporation and Nash Racing. He loved his family.

John was an avid NASCAR and Chicago Bears fan. He was a member of St. Joseph Catholic Church and the American Legion Post 113, both in Lebanon. Survivors include: Father: John R. Ehrie of Lebanon, Indiana Daughter: Donna Sue Ehrie–Henry of Indianapolis Two Grandchildren: Elitia Renée Henry of Indianapolis Logan A. (Raven) Henry of Indianapolis Five Great Grandchildren Brother: James M. (Misty) Ehrie of Lebanon, Indiana Sister: Vickie (Jeff Irwin) King of Lebanon, Indiana Many Nieces and Nephews Fiancée: Jenny R. Copeland of Lebanon In addition to his mother, John was preceded in death by two sisters, Donna L. Osborn and Michelle M. “Mickie” Ehrie.

Visitation is planned from 4:00 to 8:00 p.m. on Tuesday, February 12, 2019, at Myers Mortuary, 1502 North Lebanon Street, in Lebanon, Indiana. Funeral Service will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Wednesday, February 13, 2019, at the funeral home in Lebanon. Interment with Military Rites will follow services at Oak Hill Cemetery in Lebanon.
