Obituary of Eileen Martini Eileen Dillon Martini, age 81, of Shelton, beloved wife of David C. Martini, passed away on Monday, June 11, 2018 at Bridgeport Hospital with her loving family by her side. Born on April 11, 1937 in Cincinnati, OH, she was a daughter of the late Charles and Alma Lindemann Dillon. Eileen was a retired physical therapist for the Trumbull Public School System.

Before moving to Trumbull in 1973, she was a graduate of Mt. Healthy High School in Cincinnati, OH, Miami University in Oxford, OH and received her physical therapy training at the Cleveland Clinic. She was a physical therapist at Fairfield Rehabilitation Center and Trumbull Public School System for many years.

Eileen had a passion for reading and looked forward to attending meetings with the two book clubs she was a member of. She enjoyed gardening and spending time with her grandchildren. After developing polio as a child, she channeled her energy to overcome any obstacles to become a physical therapist.

Her desire to help children brought her to the Trumbull school system and enabled her to help children cope with their disabilities. In addition to her beloved husband of 58 years, David, survivors include three loving children, Michael Martini and his wife Sharon of Nanuet, NY, Robert Martini and his wife Catherine of Trumbull and Beth Carney and her husband Kevin of Northport, NY, eight cherished grandchildren, Catherine, David, Dylan, Sabrina, Erin, Matthew, Christopher and Allison, a sister, Jeanne Zinselmeier and her husband Jack of Lake Lure, NC, as well as many nieces and nephews. Relatives and friends may greet the family on Thursday, June 14, 2018 from 3:30 – 6:30 p.m. in the Abriola Parkview Funeral Home, 419 White Plains Road, Trumbull.

Interment will be private at the convenience of the family. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to The Kennedy Center, 2440 Reservoir Ave, Trumbull, CT 06611 or to thekennedycenterinc.org.
