OBITUARY Elida S. Tejeda November 5, 1936 – August 20, 2018 Play Tribute Movie Elida S. Tejeda was surrounded by her loving family as she entered into eternal rest on Monday, August 20, 2018 at a nursing home in Falfurrias, Texas. The Lord blessed her with 81 years of life where she was a charismatic and loving wife, mother and grandmother. Elida was born on November 5, 1936 to Ruperto Salinas and Margarita Villarreal Salinas in Edinburg, Texas.

She married the love of her life, Reynaldo Tejeda, on February 1, 1954 and they spent over 59 years together until his passing in 2013. Elida loved to spend her free time sewing blankets, clothing and making dolls. She enjoyed planning birthday parties for her family members and playing bingo and chalupa.

The most important aspect of her life was family. She absolutely adored her grandchildren and great-grandchildren. She was welcomed into the gates of Heaven by her parents, Ruperto Salinas and Margarita Regalado; step-father, Urbano Regalado; husband, Reynaldo Tejeda; son, Armando Tejeda; two brothers, Manuel Salinas and Octaviano Salinas and two step-brothers, Richard Regalado and Daniel Regalado.

Elida leaves behind to cherish his memories her son, Joe David (Sandra) Tejeda, Sr. of Falfurrias; two daughters, Nora Tejeda (Bobby) Vasquez of Three Rivers, Texas and Sylvia Tejeda Benavides of Falfurrias; six grandsons, Michael, Mark and Robert Vasquez, Joe David Tejeda, Jr., Julio Benavides, Jr. and Jacob Correra; five granddaughters, JoAnn Guerra, JoLynn and JoElda Tejeda, Desiree Benavides and Amanda Tejeda. ; 11 great-grandchildren and numerous nieces and nephews. Visitation will be at 5:00 p.m. on Wednesday, August 22, 2018 at the Funeraria Del Angel Howard Williams in Falfurrias with a Rosary at 7:00 p.m. Funeral Mass will be held at 8:30 a.m. on Thursday, August 23, 2018 at the Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Falfurrias.

Burial will follow at the Falfurrias Burial Park.
