Elise Harper Miles, age 88, of Portland, passed away Tuesday, March 5, 2019 at NHC Healthcare in Springfield. Visitation will be held at the Austin & Bell Funeral Home in Springfield on Friday, March 8, 2019 from 10am until the time of Service at 1pm. Brother Leslie Chapman will officiate.

Burial will follow at 3pm in the Hermitage Memorial Gardens with family and friends serving as pallbearers. Mrs. Miles was born January 8, 1931 in College Grove, TN to the late Henry Emmitt and Mattie Elizabeth Underwood Harper. She was a homemaker and member of the Northside Church of Christ.

In addition to her parents Mrs. Miles is preceded in death by her husband, Marshall E. Miles and her sister, Jessie Mae Fulks. Mrs. Miles is survived by her daughters, Judy (Mark) Jennette of Portland and Beverly Kay (Wayne) Ford of Springfield; sisters, Elizabeth Irwin of Portland and Dean Young of Lebanon; 4 grandchildren; 7 great-grandchildren; and 2 great-great-grandchildren. Austin & Bell Funeral Home in Springfield is in charge of these arrangements.
