Grammes, 82, of Phillipsburg passed away Monday, May 20, 2019 in Brakeley Park Center. Born September 21, 1936 in Phillipsburg she was the daughter of the late John and Helen (Skorupa) Youpa. She was a data processor with Ingersoll Rand before retirement.

She also was previously employed by the Journal of Commerce and was a kitchen aide in the Barber Street School. Elizabeth was a 1954 graduate of Phillipsburg High School and Churchman’s Business School. She enjoyed cooking and baking, crocheting and kitting; and bowling in several leagues at Warren Lanes.

She was a member of Ss. Philip and James Catholic Church; former member of the former Ss. Peter and Paul Slovak Church; and the Alpha Area Woman’s Club where she also served as Secretary.

She is survived by a son William (wife, Brenda) of Phillipsburg; daughters Susan Sutton-Mezzanotte (husband, Clem) of Lopatcong Township and Julie Pantuso of Bethlehem, PA; brother James Youpa (wife, Carol) of Harleysville, PA; sister-in-law Patricia Youpa of Easton; eight grandchildren, Taylor-Bay, Tanner, William, Jr., Braden, Russell, Mitchell, Julianna and Brody; nieces, nephews and cousins. She is predeceased by her loving husband, William O.; infant twin sons; and a brother, John. Funeral services will be held Friday, May 24, 2019 at 10 a.m. in the funeral home.

Visitation will be held Thursday from 5 to 7 p.m. and Friday from 9 a.m. to time of services in the funeral home. In lieu of flowers the family requests memorials to the Phillipsburg Emergency Squad, PO Box 215, Phillipsburg, NJ 08865.
