Obituary for Elizabeth “Betty” D. Ricke Elizabeth “Betty” D. Ricke, 85, of Medicine Lodge passed away Saturday, December 22, 2018 at Attica Long Term Care, Attica. She was born at home on April 24, 1933 in Nashville, Kansas, the daughter of Philip and Elizabeth “Lizzy” (Bayer) Becker. On August 29, 1951, she married Benny Ricke in St. Leo, KS.

Betty worked as an aide, surgery tech and ward clerk at Medicine Lodge Memorial Hospital. She was a homemaker for many years and was Benny’s right hand. She was a member of the Holy Rosary Catholic Church, Medicine Lodge, KS, served on the Altar Society at Sharon and Medicine Lodge and was a volunteer with the church.

She was a past member of St. Leo Daughters of Isabel. Surviving are her husband, Benny Ricke of Medicine Lodge; four sons, Darrel (Judy) Ricke of Hutchinson, Roger (Alice) Ricke of Wichita, Duane (Pam) Ricke of Attica and John (Tammy) Ricke of Mulvane; four daughters, Lana Kay (Tim) Baker of Amarillo, Texas, Pat (Dave) Merz of Garden City, Cheryl (Don) Grodecki of Lake Quivera and Mary Beth (Gary) Chandler of Holcomb; one sister, Joan Becker and close friend of the family, Cindy Duran of Garden City; sister in-law, Marceline Simon; 22 grandchildren; and 34 great grandchildren. Betty was preceded in death by her parents; son, Theodore Ricke; brothers, Jerome “Sonny”, Phil, Emil, John, Alfred and Nick; sisters, Philomena, Marie, Ruth and Josephine; and grandson, Ricke Joe Baker.

Visitation will be on Thursday, December 27, 2018 from 9 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. with family receiving friends from 2-3 at Larrison Funeral Home, 120 E. Lincoln, Medicine Lodge, KS 67104. Rosary and Vigil Service will be held on Thursday, December 27, 2018 at 7:00 p.m. at St. Boniface Catholic Church, Sharon, KS. Mass of Christian Burial will be on Friday, December 28, 2018 at 10:00 a.m. at St. Boniface Catholic Church with Father Mark Brantley officiating.

Burial will be in St. Boniface Catholic Cemetery, Sharon, KS. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the Multiple Sclerosis, Muscular Dystrophy or Attica Long Term Care in care of the funeral home.
