Born November 17, 1926 in South Boston, VA, she was the daughter of the late Howard Mills and Fannie Edmund Mills. She was married to the late Charlie Organ Howerton.

She was the last of her generation. Survivors include two daughters, Cecil Pinchback (John) and Clarice Broadnax of Danville, VA; three sons, Charlie Howerton, Jr. (Voryanne), Nathaniel Howerton and Michael Howerton all of Danville, VA and a host of grandchildren, great-grandchildren, other relatives and friends. In addition to her parents and husband, she was predeceased by two daughters, Angeline H. Goods and Cheyanna Smith; one son, Tony Howerton.

The family will receive friends at the home. Funeral services are incomplete at this time and will be announced once completed. Fisher and Watkins Funeral Home is assisting the Howerton family.
