Obituary for Elizabeth Louise Wujcik Elizabeth (Betty) Wujcik, a woman of deep faith and love for her family, passed away peacefully on Wednesday April 11, 2018. She would have celebrated her 89th birthday on May 1st. Betty was born in Detroit and went to Pershing High School.

She and Edward married on March 26, 1951. They immediately began raising children and eventually ended up with an even dozen. Living in various homes in metro Detroit, she finally settled in Royal Oak.

She worked as a hairdresser and later as an associate at Meijer for 25 years. She always remained true to her faith, committed to her family and friends and active in her community. Betty devoted herself to family.

She was the rock that everyone leaned on throughout their lives. As a mother she was ever an optimist, offering guidance, support and wisdom. Even though her grandchildren lived all over the country, she shared in their lives and visited often.

She loved to travel and participated in many adventures with her family. Betty had a complete and full life and loved to volunteer and help others in need. Betty was the beloved wife of the late Edward.

She was the loving and supportive mother to the late Judith Flaherty and her late husband Dan; Susan Smith; Steve and his wife Jeanette; John and his wife Deborah; Mary Beth Arcaro and her husband Ed; Nancy Wujcik; Jane Altieri; Liddy Hewitt; Andrew; Amy and her husband Greg; Paul; Adam and his wife Michele. She was so very proud of her 19 grandchildren and thrilled to be a great grandmother to eight. As per Betty’s wishes a celebration of her life will be held on July 7th when her family gathers for a reunion.
