Obituary for Ella Chosid Silber Ella Chosid Silber Ella Chosid Silber died on June 23, 2018 surrounded by her loving family. She was 94 years old. Ella was married to Kalman Silber, of blessed memory, for 45 years.

Ella was born in Yanova, Lithuania. She was separated from her family and sent to a work camp in Lithuania. She was then sent to Stuffhoff in Germany and eventually Dachau.

During the death march of Dachau, she was liberated by the American Army. Ella and Kalman immigrated to America in 1949 and settled in Memphis. Ella loved to cook, bake and always volunteered her time to the Anshei Sphard sisterhood.

For many years Ella was a participant in the annual candle lighting ceremony of the Yom Hashoah Observance. Ella Silber will be lovingly remembered by her four daughters: Hinda Silber, Esther Silber, Annette Eisenberg (Bill) and Sylvia Feldbaum (Bruce). She also leaves five grandchildren: Jackie Eisenberg Evans (Alex), Jon Eisenberg, Leigh Eisenberg Less (Jeremy), David Feldbaum and Rebecca Feldbaum and two great-grandchildren, Ethan and Miles Evans.

Ella was a member of Baron Hirsch and Anshei Sphard-Beth El Emeth Congregations. Services were held Monday, June 25th at Baron Hirsch Cemetery. The family requests that any memorials be sent to Alzheimer’s & Dementia Services of Memphis, Inc.(Dorothy’s Place) and Bornblum Jewish Community School.
