Ella “Millie” Mildred Turkovich Choma Age 93, of Canton, passed away Sunday June 10, 2018. She was born April 25, 1925 in Rose Township, Carroll County, OH, and was a Canton resident most of her life. She was a daughter of Petar Turkovich, who was born in Yugoslavia, Manda (Vintina) Turkovich, who was born in Croatia/Austria, and step-daughter of Ludmula (Salik) Turkovich, who was born in Yugoslavia.

Millie was a 1943 graduate of Dellroy High School. The day after graduation she began working at Hercules Engines during 1943, 44, and 45, and was laid off at the end of World War II. She also worked at The Timken Co. for eight years, owned and operated Millie’s Pet Grooming 45 years, and also served at Four Winds Restaurant 25 years.

Millie was a member of the Polish-American Club where she enjoyed dancing every Wed. for over 20 years. Besides her parents, she was preceded in death by four sisters and three brothers, Marco Turkson, John Turkovich, Ruby Baxter, Katherine Witts, Joe Turkovich, Ann Geiger, and Rose Suarez.

She is survived by her daughters, Sandra Choma, Deborah (Richard) DeGasperis, and their sons, Brian and Steven, Cathy (Michael) DeGasperis and their children, Michael and Amy. Family and friends may meet at St. Mary’s Catholic Church in Morges for a Mass of Christian Burial Sat. at 10 a.m. with Fr.

Andrew Batt as Celebrant. Interment will follow in the church cemetery. Friends may call Friday 4-6 p.m. at the Formet-Clevenger & Gordon Funeral Home.
