Obituary for Ellen Longo (Wagner) THE CASEY FAMILY IS HONORED TO BE ASSISTING AND CARING FOR THE FAMILY OF ELLEN LONGO WOODBURY – Mrs. Ellen Wagner Longo, age 55, passed away peacefully surrounded by her family, on Friday, September 7, 2018 at her home. She was the loving wife of Salvatore Longo, Sr Mrs. Longo was born on February 21, 1963 in Waterbury, Connecticut.

She was the daughter of the late Gerhard and Sigrid Wagner, of Germany. Ellen was educated in local schools and graduated from Post University with an Associates Degree. At the time of her passing she worked as the Chief Fiscal Officer at Industrial Management and Training Institute, Inc., (IMTI) in Waterbury, CT.

Ellen loved traveling and dragging her husband along to the beach in beautiful places like the Bahamas and Jamaica, sipping red wine with friends, betting her favorite numbers with friends on the horse races in Saratoga Springs, NY, and dancing to Billy Idol on Christmas Eve. Ellen always encouraged everyone to say “cheese” when posing for pictures, affectionately known as her “cheese smile”. Ellen will be greatly missed by all who were blessed to know and love her.

In addition to her devoted husband of 33 years, Ellen is survived by her mother Sigrid Wagner of Waterbury, her two children, Shana Longo of Denver, Colorado and her cat Bella, and Salvatore Longo Jr. and his partner Amber Pruchnik of Sayre, Pennsylvania and their dogs, Malibu and Mack, and her brother, Ralph Wagner and his partner, Sheila. She also leaves her best friend and soul sister, Janice Shannon and her husband John, her mother-in-law, Marisa Longo and her three brothers-in-law, Giuseppe Longo and his wife Trisha, and Anthony and Mario Longo and their families. The Longo family would like to thank the nurses of the Memorial Sloan Kettering Cancer Center is West Harrison, NY.

Funeral services for Mrs. Longo will be held on Wednesday, September 12, 2018 at 9:30 a.m. from Casey’s Eastside Memorial Funeral Home 1987 East Main St @ Southmayd Rd Waterbury to Cross of Christ Lutheran Church 1555 Hamilton Ave Waterbury for services at 10:00 a.m. Burial will follow in New Pine Grove Cemetery. Relatives and friends may visit with Ellen’s family on Tuesday, September 11, 2018 from 5:00 till 8:00 p.m. at the funeral home. To honor Ellen’s memory and in lieu of flowers, the family requests that you take your loved one out for dinner.
