Elmer John “E. J.” Ruebeling, Jr., 94, of Pensacola, went home to be with the Lord, Monday, November 5, 2018 at his home. A native of Plant City, FL, he was a son of the late Irene Dunnam and Elmer John Ruebeling, Sr

He was a World War II Navy Veteran and retired from the City of Lakeland, Florida, where he was a line crew foreman for many years. E. J. was a Life Member of the American Legion and a member of the Gideon’s International. Surviving are his wife of 42 years, Sandra Pritchard Ruebeling; daughters: Betty Gotteli of Santee, Calif.

, Kathy Robair of Ocala, FL, Cynthia Duteil of Hebron, KY and Terri Testerman of Wilkesboro, NC; sons: John Wayne McElveen of Wilkesboro and Steve McElveen of Weirsdale, FL; a sister: Betty Jean Davis and husband Webb of Plant City; brothers: Clarence Ruebeling and wife Nedra of Plant City and Larry Ruebeling and wife Fave of Lehigh Acres, FL and numerous grandchildren and great grandchildren. A memorial service will be held at 11 AM Saturday, November 10, 2018 in Pensacola United Methodist Church, of which he was a member. Pastor Keith Haverkamp will officiate.

Military honors will be provide by Sgt. E. L. Randolph, Chapter 57, DAV. A sharing with family and friends will be from 10:30 until 11AM, in the fellowship hall of the church, prior to the service.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the Gideons International, P O Box 264, Burnsville, NC 28714.
