Elmer Henry Vander Does Elmer Henry Vander Does, 89, passed Away March 13, 2019, surrounded by his children. He was born January 31, 1930 in Ogden, Utah to Cornelius and Vesta Vander Does. He served in the U.S. Army during the Korean conflict.

Elmer married Carol Elaine Monson on July 1, 1955 in the Salt Lake Temple. They had 4 children; Sherol (Brent) Hamblin, Mark (Nannette) Vander Does, Jeffrey (Joan) Vander Does and Kaye (Paul) Nielsen; 13 grandchildren and 30 great-grandchildren. Carol passed away in 1993.

He married Carolyn Nicholas in 1996. He was preceded in death by his wife Carol, his parents and 5 siblings. He worked for the Southern Pacific Railroad as an electrician and spent many years helping friends and neighbors repairing appliances.

He was a member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. He served a mission to the Netherlands. He served many years as a ward missionary and he also loved serving in the temple.

A viewing will be held at Myers Ogden Mortuary, 845 Washington Blvd. on Friday, March 15, 2019 from 6-8 p.m. Funeral services will be held Saturday, March 16th at 11 a.m. at the mortuary with a viewing one hour prior. Interment, Memorial Gardens of the Wasatch.
