Elmer N. Friess, 93, of Easton, formerly of Ransom, KS, passed away Friday, November 23, 2018 at his home. Born January 7, 1925 in Ransom, KS, he was one of nineteen children of the late Mathias and Mary Friess. His wife of 52 years, Ella M. (Bolmer) Friess, passed away December 29, 1997.

He was a maintenance tech for Magnesium Elektron Co., Flemington, NJ, for over ten years. Elmer enjoyed vegetable gardening and working in his yard. He was a member of St. Anthony of Padua Catholic Church.

He was also a member of Knights of Columbus. Surviving are three sons, Larry E. Friess and his wife Linda, of Spearville, KS, Richard M. Friess and his wife Brenda, of Bucklin, KS and Joseph M. Friess, residing at home; a daughter, Linda M. Meyers and her husband Donald, of Eudora, KS; a daughter-in-law, Linda Friess, of Dodge City, KS; and ten grandchildren. In addition to his wife, he was predeceased by a son, Ronald D. Friess.

Local services will be held at 3pm Tuesday in the Strunk Funeral Home, Inc., 602 W. Berwick St., Easton. Call Tuesday 2-3pm in the funeral home. Interment will be in Dodge City, KS.
