Obituary for Elvira DeBruce (Sullivan) ` Elvira DeBruce, wife of the late Carl DeBruce, of Big Sandy was born into Eternal Life on September 18, 2018 in Mt. Clemens, Michigan. Elvira was born in Chicago, Illinois on September 26, 1926 to the late Lawrence and Bertha Sullivan and was raised in Bemidji, Minnesota and Manistee.

She and Carl raised their children in Madison Heights, Michigan. They retired and moved to Big Sandy, Tennessee in 1974. Elvira was a lifelong homemaker.

She enjoyed crocheting, playing cards, Kit-kat candy bars, raising up several litters of Shetland Sheep Dogs and anything sweet! Elvira was predeceased by her siblings, May C., Florence L., Lawrence F., Blanche, Bertha M., Richard H., and her beloved children, Cathy Sue and Lawrence Taylor and nephews, Robert L., and Duane. She is survived by her daughter, Pat (Kris) DeBruce, and nephew, Lawrence C. (Jean) Maxon of Michigan; and Danny (Jeanne), Shirley (Gary), Elwanda, and Doris Jean of California and Rita (Marvin) of Minnesota.

She leaves special cousins, Maxine (the late Tilden), Ronnie and Gary (Cathy) DeBruce and many great and great, great nephews and nieces. She also leaves her best friends Juanita, Joe, Tammi, Gail, Bonnie, Richie and the people of Ramble Creek Church who graciously loved and cherished her presence along them. Elvira’s earthly remains were tenderly cared for by the staff of Faulmann and Walsh Funeral Home in Fraser, Michigan and the staff of McLaren Hospice.

Visitation will take place at Stockdale-Malin Funeral Home in Big Sandy, Tennessee on Saturday, October 13, 2018. Visitation will be from 11:00 AM until the time of her funeral service at 1:00 PM with the Reverend Pat DeBruce officiating. Inurnment will take place later in the day at Mt.

Pleasant Cemetery in Big Sandy. A luncheon will follow at her favorite pizza place-Mom and Pops in Big Sandy. Yes, sweets will be served!
