Greenwell (Hartlage) Estelle Elizabeth “Red”, 88 passed away surrounded by her loving family on Wednesday, December 26, 2018. She was born in Louisville on June 20, 1930 to the late Ernest and Emma Stuber Hartlage. Estelle was a devoted, loving wife, mother, grandmother and great grandmother.

Family was always her top priority. She was a member of Mary Queen of Peace Catholic Church (formerly St. Denis) and worked for nineteen years for the City of Louisville Law Department. Estelle enjoyed working in her yard, watching any type of sports, playing pinochle and was an avid U of L fan.

Besides her parents, Estelle was preceded in death by her husband, William “Bill” Greenwell; infant son, Ronald Lee; great grandson, Logan Marshall Allgeier and brother, Jay Hartlage. Estelle is dearly loved by her surviving children, Brenda Neu (Mark), Michael (Diana), Wayne (Martha), Lynne McDermott (Bobby), Chris Tapp (Finley), Marty (Angela) and Diana Herold (Steve); brothers, Sid, Ernie and Kenneth Hartlage; sisters, Rosie O’Neil, Emarita “Whitey” Leitner ; twenty three grandchildren and twenty four great grandchildren. A Mass of Celebration will be held 10:00 a.m. Monday December 31, 2018 at Mary Queen of Peace Catholic Church, 4005 Dixie Hwy.

, followed by burial at Calvary Cemetery. Visitation will be from 1 – 8 p.m. Sunday, December 30, 2018 at Ratterman Keenan Southwest Chapels, 4832 Cane Run Road. Memorial donations in Estelle’s name can be made to St. Jude Children’s Hospital.
