Esther Iva Scheidt, age 81, of Lake Odessa, passed away on June 1, 2018 at Green Acres of Ionia. She was born on December 6, 1936 to Frank and Ellen (Wilson) King in Sunfield, MI. On July 9, 1955 she married Donald Scheidt Sr and he preceded her in death on January 17, 1993.

Esther loved children and started babysitting at the age 15. She also enjoyed baking and cooking, making sure the kids always had a homemade snack after school. Esther and Donald owned the Laundromat in Lake Odessa for many years.

Esther is survived by: her children; Jack (Radgeline) Scheidt, John Scheidt, James Scheidt Sr., Julie Lindsley, JoEllen (Royal) Thomason, Janette (Ray) Thompson, Jerri Crissman, Donald (Tammy) Scheidt Jr; 21 grandchildren, 25 great-grandchildren and 1 great-great-grandchild, siblings; Hazel (Kendall) Herbert, Marilyn Erb, Doris King, Beverly Erb, Richard (Shirley) King, Ray (Pat) King, many nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents, Frank and Ellen, spouse, Donald Scheidt Sr., siblings Lee Douglas King, Wilma Tasker, Linda Hoffman and Robert King, in-laws Betty Scheidt and Charlie Crissman Jr.. Funeral services will be held on Wednesday, June 6, 2018 at the Koops Funeral Chapel, Lake Odessa, MI at 2pm with visitation from 12noon until time of service.

Burial will take place in the Lakeside Cemetery-Lake Odessa immediately following. In Lieu of Flowers memorials are suggested to the Green Acres of Ionia or Spectrum Hospice. Online condolences can be given at www.
