Ethel’s Obituary Ethel Bramschreiber-Svetnicka, age 86, passed away February 10, 2019. Ethel was born on October 11, 1932 to the late William and Edna (Gumz) Messerschmidt in Pella, WI. Ethel graduated from Bonduel High School.
She worked in the office at Badger Breeders, as Line Manager at Vlasic Pickles as well as in the Appleton Post-Crescent Ad Department. On July 19, 1952, Ethel married Robert ‘Bob’ Bramschreiber. Bob preceded her in death in 1978.
Ethel married Hank Svetnicka in 1983. He preceded in her in death in 2003. Ethel was a member of the Zion United Methodist Church in Bonduel.
Ethel’s faith was very important to her. She was president of the UMW and served on many committees. She enjoyed many years with her Homemakers Group in Bonduel and Appleton.
She loved poems and memorizing poems. She loved watching her grandchildren in all their sporting events. She also enjoyed many summers at the Moon Beach Camp.
She was a woman who loved to travel, from road trips to Canada, to travelling abroad to Germany, Austria, Switzerland, the Netherlands, Belgium, Luxembourg, Liechtenstein, Paris, to riding camels in Dubai, and of course her love of Arizona and California. Ethel is survived by: her children, Dr. Karen Walch (Paul) Kinsinger of Phoenix, AZ, Sherry (Glenn) Hill of Seymour, Randy (Bonnie) Bramschreiber of Bonduel and Dan (Julie) Bramschreiber of Pulaski; step-children, Ruby (Joe) Wells of Menasha, Julie (Mark) Emrick of Oshkosh, Glenn (Adele) Svetnicka of Eagle River; 14 grandchildren, Aaron (Ann) Hill, Adam (Jackie) Hill, Alex (Kelly) Hill, Rob Walch, Britney (Tyler) Dobratz, Brigham (Katie) Bramschreiber, Nina (Alex) Sarokin, Bo Bramschreiber, Millaine (Greg) Stodola, Rachel (fiancé, Steve) Emrick, Sam Emrick, Christian, Sophia and Luciano Svetnicka; eight great-grandchildren, Dylan, Harper, Jaelyn, Easton, Eliza and Dominik Hill, Abraham and Theodore Stodola. She is further survived by her sister, Donna Seefeldt; sisters-in-law, Carolyn Bramschreiber, Ann Bramschreiber, Esther McKee, Barbara Shaklan, Margaret Fredrickson; brothers-in-law, Bill Thiede and Dean Bramschreiber; many nieces, nephews, and wonderful friends.
She is preceded in death by her parents, her husbands, Bob Bramschreiber and Hank Svetnicka; brother, Roger Messerschmidt; sisters, Florence Mavis and Evangeline Thiede; sisters-in-law, Fern Wussow and Rachel Bramschreiber, brothers-in-law, Art Mavis, Harold Thompson, Ken Seefelt, Harold, John, Ray and Jim Bramschreiber; grandson, Reece Bramschreiber and niece, Kathy Thompson. Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Thursday, February 14, 2019 at Zion United Methodist Church in Bonduel. Visitation will be held from 4:00 – 8:00 p.m. on Wednesday at the Swedberg-Wendt Funeral Home in Bonduel and again on Thursday at the church from 10:00 a.m. until the time of services.
The family would like to extend a special thank you to Unity Hospice and the St. Vincent’s Critical Care staff and doctors, especially Dr. Alison Nohara. Memorials may be directed to Moon Beach. I’d like the memory of me to be a happy one.
I’d like to leave an afterglow of smiles when life is done. I’d like to leave an echo whispering softly down the ways, of happy times and laughing times and bright and sunny days. I’d like the tears of those who grieve to dry before the sun, of happy memories that I leave when life is done.
