Eugene “Kansas”‘s Obituary Eugene D. “Kansas” Hunt, 54, of Wolcott, passed away of heart related issues at 7:15 a.m. Saturday, February 9, 2019 at his residence. He was born May 5, 1964 in Lafayette to the late Norman D. Hunt and Angeline (Danford) Day. He attended North White High School in Monon.

His marriage was to Donna S. Sutton on June 8, 1991 at the Wolcott United Methodist Church; she survives. Kansas worked for Twin Lakes Canvas of Monticello. Prior to that he worked at Rural King in Monticello and several other jobs working outdoors with his hands.

Kansas enjoyed everything from farming to fast cars, bikes, spending time with his family outdoors, projects around the house, fishing, and hunting. On the weekends he could be found playing pool with his close family and friends with Tom Petty playing in the background. He was a member of the White County Tractor Club.

Surviving with his wife is a daughter, Dawn Sutton (companion: Jason Cornell) of Morocco; a son, Kyle Hunt of Reynolds; his brother, Steve Peters (wife: Sherry) of Monon; a sister, Lori (Chapman) Moore (husband: Jay) of Lafayette; and his step-father, Victor Day. Also surviving are his grandchildren, Keaton, Kyler, and Marissa Cornell. A mother-in-law, Nancy Sutton, a sister-in-law, Mary Green, and all of his girls/nieces Rochelle Brown (husband: Bobby), Amanda Spencer (husband: Brandon), Alex Chapman, Alicia Chapman, Rebecca Jones (companion: Nate Abney), and Hannah Jones.

Preceding him in death with his parents is his step-mother, Dorothy Hunt. Friends may call from 4-7 p.m. Wednesday, February 13, 2019 at Foster-Clapper Funeral Home of Wolcott. Funeral Service 7 p.m. following visitation; Casual Dress Attire.

Mike Johnson to officiate. Memorials may be made in his name to the Wolcott 4th of July Summer Festival.
