Roy Tubbs October 18, 1926 ~ October 13, 2018 A son of Thurman H. Tubbs and Johanna Van Dyke, he was raised in Riverdale and attended Weber County Schools, graduating from Weber High School. On November 19, 1947, Roy married Marilyn Fife in the Salt Lake Temple. At age 18, he was drafted into the U.S. Army and served for 18 months.

He retired from Weber County Road Department in 1989. Roy was a member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, where he served in many callings. He performed in the rodeo for many years in the Rocky Mountain Rodeo Association.

He was calf-roping director for two years and President in 1969. He ran a cutter racing team from 1969 to 1972, going to the National Finals every year. His children and spouses are, Chris and Lawrie (deceased) Skeen, Kim and Sue Tubbs, all of Roy; Rusty and DianeTubbs, Hooper; Matt (deceased) and Michelle Tubbs, West Jordan; 12 grandchildren and 28 great-grandchildren.

Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. on Saturday, October 20, 2018 at Lindquist’s Roy Mortuary, 3333 West 5600 South. The family will meet with friends Friday from 6 to 8 p.m. and Saturday from 9:30 to 10:30 a.m. at the mortuary. Interment, West Weber Cemetery.
