Linda Lea Emmett August 23, 1952 ~ October 10, 2018 Linda Lea Emmett, a passionate believer in the healing powers of air, water, fire, and the earth; can now be fully returned to those sacred elements. Linda was born in Provo, UT during the Summer; August 23rd of 1952. Linda passed away in Ogden, Utah during the predawn hours of October 10, 2018 just as the caps and cliff faces of the Wasatch Mountains received their first dusting of Autumn snow.
She was 66 years old. While many of us wait to begin our spiritual crossing after death, Linda’s began in life. She was keen to acknowledge the subtle promptings that only the universe can provide.
She received her Bachelors degree, was a life-coach and centered her studies in Spiritual Counseling. Being in-tune with many types of energies, Linda was a talented guide. For some of us, Linda was the perfect Mom, sister, and friend.
She truly was a matriarch within many circles. Linda knew what life was like in the dark and light and our lives benefitted greatly because of her rebellious freedom to speak her mind. Even while a teenager, Linda allowed herself to be exactly who she wanted to be and didn’t hide her truths from anyone.
Her authenticity was visible from the inside just as much as on the outside. She enjoyed an audience, making us laugh and taking the chance at an opportunity. Linda understood the rhythm of a touch of grey and could appreciate every silver lining.
Her honesty was heavy. For many who knew Linda, she was constantly in physical pain due to debilitating health issues. However, Linda did not let the physical limitations of her body stop her from experiencing the beauty of life.
When she was able, she enjoyed the mountains, sunsets, softball, hiking and camping. There was nothing that she cherished more than the relationships she had with her family and friends. Raising her children gave her life fulfillment.
Her love for them grew with every day. Linda celebrated her grandchildren and believed they would become great examples of strength in this life. Linda adored the connections she had with her sisters.
Linda is survived by her husband, James Daniel Emmett; daughters, Dorothy Stephenson, Rachael Tolton, and Jordawn (Ruben) Jones; sons, Daniel Chambley (Tally Teal), Thomas Chambley, and Nathan (Misha Dragon) Emmett; grandchildren, Juneau, Mckenna, River, Izaia, Tre, Tessera, and Roman; mother, Christine Carling; sisters, Stanna Frampton (Cliff), Carol Nielson, Christie (Dan) Snyder, Nancy Carter, and Marilyn (Scott) Weeks; and brother, Ryan Johnson. She was preceded in death by her father, Edward Rushton; step-father, Alan Carling; sister, Janet Frampton; brother, Russell Frampton; and great-niece Ariel Bishop. Private visitation for family and close friends will be held on Sunday from 3 to 6 p.m. at Lindquist’s Ogden Mortuary, 3408 Washington Blvd.
