Georgia B Watts Memmott 1927-2018 “Loving Mother” Our beloved mother, grandmother and friend, Georgia B Watts Memmott, age 91, entered her heavenly home on October 2, 2018. She passed peacefully surrounded by loved ones in her home. It was as if she had orchestrated her departure with her family close by and her departed loved ones waiting to welcome her on the other side.

We will miss our dear mother, but rejoice in the homecoming she has received. Georgia was born in the small farming community of Smithfield, Utah on April 1, 1927. She was the third child of Joseph Henry and Maria Leona Bair Watts.

She had a brother Ferry J Watts, and a sister Arvella Poulsen. She found close ties with nieces, aunts and grandparents and friends that lived near. Her life-long friends were a loving support to her throughout her life.

Education played an important part in our mother’s life. She attended elementary and junior high school in Smithfield and North Cache High, in Richmond. She attended Utah State University for three years.

After meeting the love of her life, Bryce Whitham Memmott, they were married in the Logan Temple on June 21st 1948, for all eternity. Georgia and Bryce moved to Delta Utah, for six years, and then moved to Bountiful, Utah. Dad built their lovely home in 1955, which she lived in for the rest of her life, never wanting more.

Mother finished her education in 1965 and graduated from Weber State with a teaching contract in English and speech. She used her talents and knowledge throughout her service in the school district and in her church callings. Georgia and Bryce were the proud parents of seven children, which she called her crowning glory.

Her happiest moments were when we gathered together for vacations, parties and Sunday dinners. Our dear Mother was the center of our home as the planner and organizer of many wonderful experiences. Mother was an accomplished quilter, seamstress, genealogist, world traveler, and a voracious reader.

She was a supporter of PBS and the arts, and a civic and church volunteer. This made each day full of purpose and service for others. She had wonderful times attending art, DUP, family history center, attending the temple, and sewing for the humanitarian center.

She served in every auxiliary of the church and loved studying the gospel. Mother enjoyed life to the fullest! She was preceded in death by her parents, her son Daron, her husband, and great-grandchild Payson Black.

She is survived by her children, Estelle and (Kevin) Rigby, Karen and(Howard) John, Dana Memmott, Todd and (Korey) Memmott, Richard and (Connie) Memmott, Janel and (Quinn) Tidwell. She has been blessed to have 32 grandchildren and 24 great-grandchildren, whom she adored and always remembered on their birthdays. Funeral Services will be held October 13, 2018 at 10:30am at the Bountiful 36th Ward Chapel at 102 East 1400 South.

Friends may visit family Friday, Oct 12th from 6-8 pm at Lindquist’s Bountiful Mortuary, 727 N. 400 E. and Sat. Oct. 13th at the Church from 9-10am prior to services.

Interment will be in the Smithfield cemetery. In lieu of flowers she has requested donations to the LDS Humanitarian Services, www. ldsphilanthropies.org.
