Stella M. Martinez July 14, 1943 ~ October 4, 2018 Stella M. Martinez, loving wife, mother, grandmother, sister, aunt and friend, returned to her Heavenly Father on Thursday, October 4, 2018. She was born July 14, 1943 to Bertha and Joe B. Gallegos. She graduated from Ben Lomond High School and later attended Hollywood Beauty College to become a practicing licensed beautician.

Eventually she pursued a career at Hill Air Force Base in Logistics Support; she retired from the base. On August 22, 1964, Stella married her best friend and husband of 54 years, Roberto E. Martinez. They have two children, Robert Everett (Christina) and Stephanie Ana Martinez.

She was an active member of St. Mary Catholic Church. Stella enjoyed her life as a homemaker and enjoyed reading, cooking, sewing, watching her old Western movies on TV every afternoon, but most of all she enjoyed having her family around her at all times. She was preceded in death by her father, Joe B. Gallegos, Mother, Bertha Gallegos, two brothers, Junior and Danny Gallegos, one sister, Frances Gallegos, and her special granddaughter, Elisa Martinez.

Stella is survived by her husband, Roberto E. Martinez, two children, Stephanie Ana, and Robert Everett Martinez, three grandchildren, AryAna Vitcovich, Zachary, and Izabella Martinez. , two sisters, Josie (Dallas) Whitaker, Toni Almanza, four brothers, John F. (Linda) Gallegos, Eddie (Sherry) Gallegos, Mark (Ann) Gallegos, Matthew Gallegos, and many nieces and nephews. The family wishes to thank all who provided loving care to Stella.

Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 10 a.m. on Monday, October 8, 2018 at St. Mary Catholic Church, 4050 South 3900 West, West Haven. The family will meet with friends Sunday from 6 to 8 p.m. at Lindquist’s Roy Mortuary, 3333 West 5600 South with Holy Rosary will be recited at 7 p.m. Interment, West Point Cemetery, 80 North 4000 West.
