Eugene Robert Paulsen, 85 of Saxonburg passed away on Friday, June 22, 2018 at the Saxony Health Center. Born May 15, 1933 in Winfield Twp. , PA, he was the son of the late A. Credo Paulsen and Elizabeth Bauer Paulsen.

Gene was a graduate of Butler High School. He was a US Army veteran. He worked for Heppenstahl Steel.

Gene enjoyed hunting, yard work and racing and watching baseball games. Surviving are his loving wife, Virginia (Vettori) Paulsen, who he married September 17, 1953, sons, Dean Paulsen of Sarver and Donald Paulsen of Renfrew, daughters, Debbie Grey of Chicora, and Sharon McCormick of Saxonburg, brother, Larry Paulsen of Butler, sister, Beverly Gallagher of Butler, sister, Carol Vettori of Saxonburg, 5 grandchildren: Dean Paulsen, Kevin Grey, Dustin Paulsen, Daleen Paulsen, and Casey Paulsen, 7 great grandchildren; Chase Paulsen, Alexa Grey, Tyler Paulsen, Drake Paulsen, Brady Grey, Avery Grey, and Alyssa Paulsen. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by brothers, Bill, Royce and Vern Paulsen, and sister, Harriet Lassinger.

There will be no visitation. A memorial service will be announced at a later date.
