Obituary for Evelyn Rebecca Branch Owen Evelyn Rebecca Branch Owen Augusta, Ga – Entered into rest Monday, May 7, 2018. Mrs. Evelyn Rebecca Branch Owen, 93, loving wife of 60 years to the late Bernard E. Owen. Mrs. Owen was born July 24,1924 to Eugene Warrenton Branch and Blanch Garner Branch in Smithdale, MS and grew up in McComb, MS.
Prior to her marriage she worked as an executive secretary for the federal government in various cities throughout the southeast. Evelyn and Bernard lived in the Augusta area for 60 years. Evelyn cherished her role as wife and mother.
In addition to her late husband, Bernard E. Owen, Mrs. Owen was predeceased in death by her parents, four brothers (Glenn, Elwood, Willie, and Mack Branch) and four sisters (Hilda Peters, Elaine Branch, Lanette Walker, and Dorothy Williams). Survivors include daughters, Kimberly Owen Massey (Rick) and Lisa Owen Newham (Ron); grandchildren: Amanda Massey and Thomas Massey; and sister-in-law Joyce Branch; nieces and nephews. A graveside service will be held at 11:00 on Saturday, May 12, 2018 at Crestlawn Memorial Gardens in Orangeburg, SC.
