Everett Charves, 92, of New Bern, North Carolina, passed away on January 6, 2019. He was the husband of the late Lillian (Lamoureux) Charves who passed away March, 2017. Born April 4, 1926, in East Providence, he was a son of the late Manuel and Anna (Raposa) Charves, and brother of the late Mary Costa, Irene Nitterouer, Helen Bernhard, Josephine Charves, Ann Lawrence, Evelyn Cuomo, and Manuel, Joseph, John and Edward Charves.

Everett was a graduate of EPHS, and the University of Massachusetts, with a degree in chemistry. He was a WWII Army Air Corps veteran whose love of football, hockey and baseball followed him throughout his life. He was a member of the American Chemical Society, the US Coast Guard Auxiliary, Association of American Textile chemists and the University of Massachusetts Alumni club.

His career was highlighted by his development of corrosion and laser resistant paints for military aircraft. Both received US patents. Upon retirement to Palm Coast, FL, and then to New Bern, NC, Everett continued to enjoy his love for boating and fishing.

His funeral will begin Saturday, Jan. 12, at 8:45am from the Rebello Funeral Home and Crematory, 901 Broadway, East Providence, with a Mass of Christian Burial at 10am in St. Francis Xavier Church, 81 No. Carpenter St., East Providence.

Burial will follow at the Gate of Heaven Cemetery. Relatives and friends are invited to attend. Calling hours are respectfully omitted.
